Plaque Psoriasis also known as Psoriasis Vulgaris. It is the most common type of psoriasis that people have. It is called psoriasis plaque because of the plaque characteristics found on the skin which are red spots that clearly visible like scales appear on any part of the body such as elbows, knees, scalp or nails.
When the spots being scratched, the surface of the patches (scales) will drop and if it is scratched strongly, it will lead to injury and bleeding. Psoriasis plaque can join together and form a large area of blister on the skin.

Psoriasis Plaque Types |
There are several types of Psoriasis Plaque:
- Rupioid Psoriasis: The lesions of this type of psoriasis are in cone or limpet shape.
- Lichenified psoriasis: When the psoriasis being rubbed chronically and it become more thickened.
- Elephantine psoriasis: The psoriasis area are very large, very thick scales and persistent.
- Ostraceous psoriasis: The psoriasis looks like an oyster shell which is very thick scales and ring-shapes.
- Linear psoriasis: The psoriasis develops in a linear order along the body.
- Photosensitive psoriasis: This type of psoriasis will become worsen on the sun-exposed areas of neck, face, forearm or hands. It requires a very strict sun protection and need to combine with other treatment.

Psoriasis Plaque Symptoms |
- It usually appears as red small patches on the elbows, knees, navel or lower back body part.
- Infinite itching, stinging, cracking, burning or bleeding.
- The lesions or patches can form in different sizes.
- The skin will look dry and scaly because of the accumulation of the dead cells.
- The scales will always drop.
