What is Encephalitis Brain Damage?
Encephalitis Brain Damage is a medical emergency and refers to inflammation of the brain tissue; this can also involve the membranes of the brain.
What causes Encephalitis Brain Damage?
Encephalitis Brain Damage is usually due to an infection caused by a virus or bacteria. Several viruses are known as the cause of this disease, including measles, chickenpox, herpes, mumps, etc. Bacterial infection (staphylococci), syphilis and HIV are also some of the common cause.
Usually, it is not possible to identify the type of Encephalitis Brain Damage infection from the symptoms or examination.
What are the symptoms of Encephalitis Brain Damage?
- Headache, often severe.
- Stiffness of the neck.
- Fever.
- Confusion.
- In rare cases of Encephalitis Brain Damage, convulsion or paralysis of the arms and legs.
- Photophobia (dislike of bright light).
- Psychiatric symptoms.
