Zollinger-Ellison Cancer/Carcinoma Tumor syndrome is a complex condition in which one or more tumors form in the pancreas, sometimes in the upper part of the small intestine (duodenum). These tumors, called gastrinomas, secrete large amounts of the hormone gastrin, which causes excessive production of acid by your stomach. The excess acid, in turn, leads to peptic ulcers.
These conditions may be classified as weakness of pancrease "Qi" system and also the "Qi" obstruction.
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome Symptoms
People who suffer from zollinger-ellison syndrome do not always have symptoms and all the symptoms are similar to peptic ulcer. When the symptoms do occur, they will experience:
Nausea
Heartburn
Feel pain or burning in the stomach that moving toward the throat.
Vomiting
The vomit may contain blood or like coffee grounds.
Abdominal pain
They will feel burning, gnawing, discomfort or aching in upper abdomen which is between the breastbone and the navel.
Diarrhea
Stools might malodorous, black and tarry.
Weight loss
Fatigue
Weakness
Bleeding
Digestive tract may be bleed.
Loss of appetite
This is because they feel bloating, full and pressure in the stomach. The pain usually occurs 30 to 90 minutes after meal.
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome Causes
Actually, the exact cause of zollinger-ellison syndrome is unknown. But, there are some cases that occur in this syndrome are clear. Zollinger-ellison syndrome occurs when there is a tumor (gastrinoma) or tumors form in the pancreas, duodenum, or the lymph nodes.
