| Thalassemia or also known as ‘Mediterranean anemia’ is a blood disorder caused by a decrease of hemoglobin in the body from the normal level. This happened because less synthesis hemoglobin chain in the blood.
Hemoglobin is a substance in the red blood cells that responsible to carry the oxygen in the body. Lower level of hemoglobin and lack of red blood cells will cause anemia. Thalassemia patients will experience fatigue and lethargy. If the person suffers from minor thalassemia, he or she not requires therapy. But if they have major thalassemia, then they have to do blood transferring regularly. They also must ensure healthy lifestyle and balanced diet to increase their energy. |
