Male breast cancer is a disease that everyone thought it is rare. Even though men do not have a breast like women, men also have a chance to get breast cancer. This is because men have small amount of breast tissue. So, the chances for the tissue grow abnormally also very high.

Until now, the actual causes of male breast cancer are still unknown but doctors know that male breast cancer occur when there are some breast tissue grows abnormally. There are many risk factors of breast cancer for men to face.
Below are some risk factors that usually men have:
- Family history: No matter your mother or your sister having breast cancer in your family, the chances for you to get male breast cancer also are very high. This is because according to statistics, at least 1 of 5 men suffer from breast cancer had close female relatives with breast cancer. However, this not means that male breast cancer is hereditary.
- Radiation exposure: Men who always exposing his chest to radiation also in a high risk of getting male breast cancer including been undergoing lymphoma radiation therapy.
- Age: Men between the age of 60 to 70 years old are most being diagnosed to have breast cancer. According to statistics, men in 67 years old are contributing to the average male breast cancer cases.
- Having liver disease: Men who have liver disease such as cirrhosis or liver enlargement tend to get breast cancer. This is because liver disease among men may cause the reduction of androgen activity while increasing the estrogen hormones.
- Rare genetics condition: The most common syndrome that causes male breast cancer is Klinefelter’s Syndrome. This type of syndrome occur when there are two or more X chromosome present to one Y chromosome in male.
- Too much uses of alcohol: If you are a heavy drunkard, then you have greater risk of having breast cancer.
- Obesity: People with excessive weight may be in the high risk of breast cancer. This is because too much fat cells causing increase amount of estrogen hormones due to the conversion of androgen hormones.
However, it is not neccessarily for men to have male breast cancer if they had experienced the risk factor but it only show that the men are in the high chances to get male breast cancer.

Men should be aware when they notice changes on their breast. This is because most of men nowadays still delaying from seeing the doctor when they saw or notice unusual changes on their body such as a breast lump. As a result, many cases of male breast cancer are being diagnosed at a late stage.
Followings are some male breast cancer symptoms and signs that all guys need to take care about:
- Nipple felt pain.
- There is a lump in the breast.
- Nipple turn inward or inverted.
- Lymph nodes under the arm becomes larger.
- Clear or bloody d ischarge from nipple.
- Lesion on the nipple or areola.
