Asperger’s syndrome

Asperger’s syndrome is now considered part of the autism spectrum, although many people still use the older name. People with these traits experience the world and social life differently.

Traits people describe

  • Difficulty with the back-and-forth of social interaction
  • Limited eye contact
  • Strong, narrow interests
  • Sensitivity to noise, light or touch

What we offer

Our approach is gentle. Fine needles are placed along the body’s meridians with the aim of supporting calm and well-being, and we prepare Chinese herbal formulas for the individual. We do not claim to cure Asperger’s syndrome or autism.

We encourage families to continue with any therapy, school support and medical care that is already helping.

How we work

At The Tole, treatment combines neuro acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The Master’s team reviews your history and any medical reports, then recommends acupuncture, herbal preparations, or both. Herbs are prepared for the individual, using natural herbs and the family’s ancestral formulas.

You can walk in during opening hours without an appointment. If you live far away, email your medical reports and we will advise you on herbs and, where suitable, an intensive course of acupuncture. Herbs can be couriered to any country, usually in 3 to 5 working days. See herbs by post.

See a doctor first if

  • A person who has not yet been assessed. A specialist can confirm a diagnosis
  • Persistent anxiety, low mood or thoughts of self-harm. Please seek help from a doctor straight away

Traditional Chinese medicine is offered as a complement to, not a replacement for, medical care. We do not promise a cure or a particular result, and responses vary from person to person. Please keep your doctor informed about any herbs or treatments you use.
