| What is Urticaria? |
Urticaria is pink itchy swelling (wheals) and occurs locally on any part of the skin and will spread except the nails and hair. Red effect this would appear a few minutes or hours before fully recovered within 48 hours without leaving any sign. It may take a few days or few weeks to recover it and depend on the people.
Urticaria caused by leakage of fluid through small blood vessels in the skin. These changes result from the release of natural chemicals such as histamine from mast cells found along the blood vessels in the skin.
| What are the Urticaria Causes? |
The most important reason can be caused by allergic and non-allergic. Histamine chemical behind this event is produced by our body. This substance will cause the blood vessels to swell and the tissues around the place are swelling too. Histamine will also cause itching.
Common Causes of Urticaria :
- Food Allergy ( bean or nuts, eggs, shellfish).
- Medicine Allergy (antibiotics penicillin, fever or pain medication such as paracetamol and aspirin).
- Sunlight.
- Sweat.
- Stress and tension.
- Fever (caused by virus or bacteria).

There are several symptoms that may cause Urticaria :
- Skin become swollen, red, different sizes and shapes.
- Itching and sometimes pain.
- Dermatographism (Skin will swell if scratched).
- Usually the swelling will subside within 24 hours, but will occur in other parts of body.
