Difficulty getting or keeping an erection is common, especially in younger men when anxious or after heavy drinking. It can also be a sign of an underlying health problem.
Possible causes
- Psychological: performance anxiety, relationship problems, depression, stress, tiredness
- Physical: ageing, blood vessel disease, smoking, injury, or surgery to the prostate or abdomen
- Medicines and substances: some medicines for blood pressure, depression or ulcers, as well as alcohol and tobacco
Why it is worth checking
Erection problems can be an early sign of undiagnosed diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease, so a medical check is a good idea. Please do not stop any prescribed medicine without talking to your doctor.
What we offer
Neuro acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are offered as traditional approaches to support energy and well-being. Consultations can be in person, by email or on WhatsApp, and we make no promise of a particular result.
How we work
At The Tole, treatment combines neuro acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The Master’s team reviews your history and any medical reports, then recommends acupuncture, herbal preparations, or both. Herbs are prepared for the individual, using natural herbs and the family’s ancestral formulas.
You can walk in during opening hours without an appointment. If you live far away, email your medical reports and we will advise you on herbs and, where suitable, an intensive course of acupuncture. Herbs can be couriered to any country, usually in 3 to 5 working days. See herbs by post.
See a doctor first if
- Erection problems that continue for more than a few weeks
- Symptoms with chest pain, breathlessness, or excessive thirst and urination
- Erection problems after you started a new medicine
Traditional Chinese medicine is offered as a complement to, not a replacement for, medical care. We do not promise a cure or a particular result, and responses vary from person to person. Please keep your doctor informed about any herbs or treatments you use.
