Lower abdominal pain

Lower abdominal pain has many possible causes, from digestion and diet to gynaecological and urinary conditions. There are no quick fixes, and finding the cause comes first.

What people describe

  • Cramps or a gnawing feeling
  • Bloating
  • Sharp pains that come and go

What we offer

In acupuncture, fine needles are placed at points along the body’s meridians with the aim of restoring the flow of Qi and balance in the digestive system. Some people feel tingling or warmth at the points. We also prepare Chinese herbal formulas according to your symptoms.

For patients who travel to us, an intensive course of neuro acupuncture can be arranged, with accommodation nearby.

How we work

At The Tole, treatment combines neuro acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The Master’s team reviews your history and any medical reports, then recommends acupuncture, herbal preparations, or both. Herbs are prepared for the individual, using natural herbs and the family’s ancestral formulas.

You can walk in during opening hours without an appointment. If you live far away, email your medical reports and we will advise you on herbs and, where suitable, an intensive course of acupuncture. Herbs can be couriered to any country, usually in 3 to 5 working days. See herbs by post.

See a doctor first if

  • Sudden or severe pain, or pain with fainting
  • Fever, vomiting, or blood in the stool or urine
  • Pain when you may be pregnant
  • Pain that keeps returning without a clear reason

Traditional Chinese medicine is offered as a complement to, not a replacement for, medical care. We do not promise a cure or a particular result, and responses vary from person to person. Please keep your doctor informed about any herbs or treatments you use.
